Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need special shoes for cycling classes?

Yes! Our bikes utilize clip-in pedals designed to help your feet stay properly aligned while pedaling fast or out of the saddle. If you’re doing a drop-in class and don’t own cycling shoes (Peloton shoes work!!), you can rent them for $3. If you have an Unlimited Cycling, Unlimited Plus, or Intro Membership, clip-in shoe rentals are included.

Can I do a cycling class if I’ve never cycled before?

Of course! The best part about our cycling classes is that you are in control of your speed and resistance on the bike. If there is a song where the rhythm is too fast, you can always slow down and ride below the beat. And if a drill is cued out of the saddle, you can always choose to stay seated. This is YOUR class and there is nothing wrong with modifying.

What are “hybrid” classes?

Occasionally, you’ll see a “hybrid” style class pop-up on our schedule. These classes combine two styles of movement so you’re getting a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Keep your eyes peeled for “StrongSoul Cycle + Sculpt” and “StrongSoul Sculpt + Flow” hybrid classes.

Do you have showers?

Yes! We have two private shower rooms that are stocked with products and available for our students to use after classes. Feel free to take your time and relax while you get ready for the rest of your day.

How hot does the heated studio get?

Our heated studio can get up to a maximum of 105 degrees. However, we usually keep our “hot” classes heated between 95-98 degrees and our warm classes heated around 90 degrees. You are encouraged to listen to your body, modify and leave the room if you are ever feeling overheated during a class. Make sure you drink plenty of water before class and bring a water bottle and towel with you.

How do I set up my bike when I get to class?

Our instructors can help you set up your bike. But a few tips:

+ Start by adjusting your seat. You should use your hip bones as a guide for setting the height of the bike seat. After adjusting the seat, clip into your bike pedals and pedal forward a few times. You should have a soft bend in the knee at the bottom of your pedal stroke. Avoid hyperextension of the leg or too much bend in the knees.

+ Take note of where your knee is when you pedal. It should be right over the ball of your foot. If your knee is extending beyond the toes at the bottom of the pedal stroke, get off your bike and slide the seat back.

+ Handlebar height is wherever it feels comfortable. If you have back problems, it is recommended to raise them higher. However, if you prefer them lower that is fine. You should, however, have a slight lean forward while reaching for the handlebars.

Do you sell food/drink at your studio?

We offer a selection of fitness drinks that can be purchased from our fridge, as well as to-go snacks to help you keep your energy up for the day.

Do you offer private classes?

We are happy to set up private classes for special events (Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties, Corporate Outings, etc.). Please contact us by phone, email, or the “chat now” button on our website to learn more.

How long do I have to cancel before a class?

You have up until 30 minutes before class to cancel. There are no penalty fees for canceling. However, if you have a 10-Pack of class credits or a Drop-In class credit, you will lose that class credit when you late cancel or no show.

How do I cancel my membership?

Please email, call or talk to us in the studio if you wish to cancel. While we will be sad to see you go, we understand that life ebbs and flows. You will simply finish out the last billing interval. You will not be required to complete another month of membership.

Can I bring my phone into the studio?

We have a strict no phone policy in the StrongSoul classroom. Not only do we want you to disconnect in class, we also want others to feel disconnected. Phone usage is distracting. If you are on call for work or have young children at home, please let the teacher know and you may bring your phone into the room. However, if you need to use it, you will be required to step out.

What if I’m going to be late to class or need to leave early?

Always let our instructors know if you are going to be late or need to leave early. They can accommodate as needed.
